Make Way For The Super.Fly 5

With rumors swirling around that Blake Griffin is on his way out to Lalaland this coming season, his 5th shoe by Jordan Brand, Super.Fly 5  is nothing but uncertain. Nike globally launches the Super.FLy 5, yesterday August 1 for $150. Super.FLy 5 originally debuts in three colorways but now adding two more colorway in its collection.

The Jordan Super.fly 5 features a combination of lightweight synthetic uppers, inner sleeve lining construction, and forefoot Zoom Air cushioning. Elements that would give you perfect responsiveness, super lockdown fit and low to the ground cushioning that not only Blake himself would love but for quick guards too.

From the Jordan Super.Fly 5, a tradition that not only from the likes of Blake Griffin, Ray Allen, Jabarri Parker, Russel Westbrook, Monta Ellis, Joe Johnson, Lamarcus Aldridge who has worn the shoes in the past, this version of the Super.Fly series is sure of delivering great on-court performance. The variety of positions and games of the players mentioned above only proves that the sneakers are one of the most versatile ones in the market today.

The Zoom Air on this iteration of the Super.Fly is only concentrated on the forefoot, which is a step back in terms of cushioning from the past Super.Fly versions that featured Zoom in the heel, large volume Zoom or unlocked Zoom. The heel cushioning setup on this one is just purely Phylon. That’s bad news for people who prefer maximum cushioning in the heel. Thus, making this part of the shoe, a negative because a large majority of the players who play guard and forward needs a shoe with a decent cushioning setup in the heel to absorb impact every time they print, cut and jump. In short, do not expect a soft, pillowy cushioning like Air Max, Boost or even normal Zoom Air to this shoe.

The traction though looks and feels like it would even hold up un-pristine courts. It’s not a  herringbone pattern sole but the pattern is in a fish scale type shapes. Super.Fly 5 is said to be unconventional for the outsole rubber is shaped and curved like the foot. It may not be a super-grip outsole, but it’s pretty decent especially on indoor courts.

Overall, Overall, The Super.Fly 5 is an entry level  shoes and  an affordable alternative to the Jordan line.  For a decent price of $150, the Super.Fly 5 can be considered as a prime-time performer on the court.
